Maintenance Technician

Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Technician works under the supervision of the Facilities Coordinator and is responsible for the efficient execution of all maintenance work orders during regular and non-regular business hours, construction improvements and reporting of significant maintenance needs.  The individual reports on the status of consumable inventories, re-occurring operational or equipment functioning problems, matters related to preventative maintenance and the status of vendor performance.  Initiative is expected to solve maintenance problems, communicate creative solutions, communicate issues affecting optimal performance and perform other duties as required. The successful candidate will live within 15 miles of 201 S. Main Street, Spring City, PA and have experience in landscaping and snow removal.

Essential Job Functions
Performs various maintenance work orders and building construction

  • Perform wallboard installation and repair, paint and paint preparation, carpentry and related work to prepare vacant apartments for market ready condition
  • Performs inspections of apartment units and building systems
  • Assist in maintaining inventories, preventative maintenance schedules, and special maintenance projects
  • Performs landscaping and snow removal
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and general maintenance on the mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC systems and life safety equipment
  • Perform carpet and vinyl sheet goods installations
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents, visitors and other team members

 Knowledge and Skills

  • Thorough understanding of building equipment systems
  • General knowledge of and ability to perform property maintenance tasks involving carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical, lawn care, snow removal, painting and flooring
  • Knowledge of building access systems, fire suppression, elevators, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Ability to prepare written reports regarding inventories, preventative maintenance, inspection results and construction status
  • Ability to utilize a computer in the performance of tasks (i.e. work order documentation, email)
  • Knowledge of Small engine repair and maintenance
  • Excellent Customer Service skills


  • Combination of: High School Diploma, 2+ Tech School, and/or 4 years relevant experience
  • Available to perform after hour emergency work orders (On-call required)
  • Physical stamina to perform duties
  • Must maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • HVAC experience a plus
